I visited 21 Rocks restaurant in July with my family. It was our first vacation in a long time for our family due to myself battling stage 3 colon cancer. I apologize for my personal business on social media but unfortunately it is the only way I could express how our visit to this restaurant effected me. The food was fine , the server very nice but the problem is with the bill. We asked the server when we sat down if we could split the bill on two different credit cards, we are on a fixed budget due to me being unemployed because of my illness. When the bill came gave the server two separate cards and told her how much to put on each card. She came back with two approved receipts that we signed. A few days following, we realized that the total amount was put on only one card causing use to get an over the credit limit and now possibly bad credit. I made many attempts to reach the manager and was given the run around. I goChris the manager on the phone once and he said he would correct it and still has not three weeks later. And has not returned my calls. I am very disappointed with what was supposed to be a happy experience for my family that turned out to be a very stressful situation for myself and my husband.

Rocks 21 ROCKS! This is a Great place to eat, and my wife and I had a Very Good Time. The Overall Experience was Pleasant and Smooth from beginning to end. The Hostess Nicki as well as others were very helpful over the phone in not only answering questions and concerns especially pertaining to Covid world and crowds, but also very accommodating in setting up Reservations. Upon arrival, from the beginning to end Server Amanda B., along with the 2 Gentleman assisting her, were absolute wonderful, attentive, knowledgeable, all while wearing masks in a seating area nicely distanced from others. Even the Pool Party and set up on the lawn for an outside Local Live Band Concert were appropriately set up for social distancing, they are Very Concience of Safety Measures for Patrons. We Can't wait to come back here again for another (Kid Free) Date Night Lol, and hope to have more friends tag along with us next time😊

Never Never again. The experience to give them business and being insulted by the so called manager. 329 a night at the hotel. Wife and I finally got away to have a weekend. Insulted by this so called manager acted like he was doing me a favor to give them business. Walked out and I will never go back. I never leave bad reviews. I’m a self employed guy but don’t make me feel your doing me a favor giving you business. I just wanted a night out. Shame on that manager. Please be safe everyone. God bless

The only problem was the sausage. The food was delicious, service friendly and attentive, and atmosphere lovely. I ordered the stuffed portabella. As I ate I discovered that the sausage was not cooked in the center. I brought it to their attention and they took 10% off the bill.

Food and drinks were absolutely delicious, service was very friendly but 3 stars less because of the Corona ignoring restaurant reception lady who was the only one not wearing her mask - even after I told her the mask slipped off her nose when she talked super close to me she just laughed at me and came back to our table even not wearing the mask over the mouth! That's not the way you should treat a guest, not safe and polite at all!!!

We came specifically to try some New England dishes we had never tasted before. The service was professional and friendly, the food was delicious and authentic, and the view of the harbor from their patio seating was just what we were looking for. This Florida family will visit Connecticut again in the future, and look forward to another visit to Rocks 21.

I read good reviews so I thought we’d give this place a try. The service was terrible as was the food with the exception of my shrimp scampi. It was the waitresses fifth day in the bartenders first. Our drink orders were so messed up. My husband ordered a gin and tonic in a tall glass and received a gin and club soda in a very small glass with no line filled 3/4 of the way with ice. He asked for a lime and got lime juice 20 minutes later. Another person in our party ordered a dirty martini it came without the olive juice. She then ordered a small glass of olive juice and 20 minutes later received lime juice. We never got water and had to ask for set ups. Twice! Dessert was a disaster. It was a baked brownie with ice cream that was hard as a rock and very stale. We couldn’t even cut into it it was like a brick. They brought us another one which was a little better. By now the old one had melted and the ice cream was pouring out of the holes in the serving dish. What a mess they didn’t even wipe the table. I ordered a chocolate martini and they brought me Kahlúa with vodka. The bus boy didn’t even clean up between courses it was a disaster the table was sticky and messy. The waitress was very sweet but honestly didn’t seem to know what she was doing. The bartender needs to go back to school because other than my apple martini and the beers he got everything wrong. The setting was nice. It was nice to be outside overlooking the river which was across the street. We were all very disappointed in the service and the quality of the food overall.

The food is amazing, staff is friendly and efficient, and both indoor and outdoor dining are good social distancing (a major deal lately, as we all know). Prices are right for the amount and quality of food.

Sat for 30 min with no drinks or food. People around us were begging for checks and still had to get up and wait near service area to get it. The service was so bad we will not be returning. Disappointing because the view was amazing and the food did look good. I probably would have starved if Dog Watch didn't take us in right away and had great service.

No service, had reservation for the patio and was seated on the grass because that’s all they had. Servers walked past us for 20 minutes without asking us if we wanted a drink. Left without service!! Only go if want bring your own drinks and food!

I've eaten here a few times over the years and have always enjoyed the food and water views. My most memorable time was on Mother's Day 2018 when this restaurant was still named The Harbour House, and they had the most spectacular buffet I've ever seen anywhere. There was everything imaginable to eat, from carving stations of standing rib roast, turkey, and ham to jumbo cooked shrimp on ice, multiple choices of warm potato dishes, breads, pastries, breakfast dishes! Unbelievable.A cool day, we sat outside on the deck anyway and the staff brought us blankets to stay warm while we enjoyed our food and took in the view. Also while it was still The Harbour House, they had a lobster crepe on their menu which was one of the most sublime creations I've ever eaten. I inquired about it this Mother's Day visit, and the waitress said that Chef had left so it was no longer available, but they were getting so many requests for it, their new chef was working on one to bring it back. Visiting here this past Sunday in late February 2020, now as Rocks 21, our party of three returned to see if they now had them on the menu and each order one. They did, and it was an item on their brunch menu. We ordered three, plus two no-limit mimosas for $15. Hawaiin style with pineapple juice and a cup of tea.The Chef here reinterpreted the lobster crepe in their own style and it was quite different from the dreamy original except it did have a crepe and lobster. They were good but none of us thought we'd order one again, though we will certainly return for other meals in the future. This version was very salty, and had a thick orangey yellow colored sauce over the crepe. It reminded us of Velveeta or cheese whiz. The crepe was thick but browned properly, and the lobster was tender with each crepe having a decent portion folded inside. A bowl of fresh fruit comes on the side with red seedless grapes, pineapple chunks and honeydew melon. Perhaps the Chef can continue experimenting with the lobster crepe and bring it closer to the one everyone wants to experience again. The rooms are all decorated well. The bar is long and well-stocked. The deck was closed for the winter but is a nice option in warmer seasons.

This restaurant is a great place to have drinks and dinner. Seafood dishes are fantastic. Burgers, chicken, chili, steaks all good. Salads are colorful and fresh. Warm bread for the table. Live music on the weekends. Staff can’t do enough for you. WIDE selection of beers. Perfect view of the water. We come here a lot and have never had a bad meal or bad service.

Great meal and service. The three of us had the crab cake appetizer, seafood cavatini, scallop casserole, and a shared key lime pie for dessert. All were excellent. We also enjoyed regional IPAs (check the Untappd app for selection) and generous cocktails, and an attentive and responsive staff. Live music by a pianist and vocalist were good but not intrusive in the dining room. Poor reviews in early summer might be attributed to an earlier manager and chef, both of whom were replaced mid-summer. Our dinner was thoroughly enjoyable.

I was in town and looking for a place to eat outside. I called and made a reservation but when I arrived the hostess said there wasn't one under my name. She reassured me that they would "make it happen". And make it happen they did. The owners came over and made certain that me and my girlfriend were happy while they were setting up a table on the deck. Our waitress Melanie, quickly took our order. The food was brought to us quickly and was amazing. Trust me, it was worth the wait. Thanks to Scott and his team for making our night memorable.

After reading some recent negative reviews I thought I would post. We had 11 people in our group on 8.15.19and everyone was raving about the food, even the kids. Tied for the best Calamari and scallops I've had, perfectly cooked and not rubbery. My 11yo even said he'll always compare calamari to this place in the future. We get calamari everywhere we go.Wood fired pizza was good, it's not papa John's here folks, it's good pizza cooked a little differently. I eat a fair amount of wood fire pizza to compare to, in fact a few days earlier I was at a place in Boston that only did this pizza and Rocks21 was just as good. Tried lobster nachos, Turkey wrap (my picky 13yo loved everything on it), and crab cakes too, all excellent as I had to sample everything.Yea, it's a bit pricey but good enough that we made it a point to compliment the chef, it was worth it.

Advertising wood fired pizza that was tasteless and thoroughly uninspiring at a very high price.. Any frozen pizza would have been its equal or better... Also Inadequate beer selection, uncaring staff and a clinical interior.. I asked around after the fact and it seems several people I know have already had very poor experience here... I won't be back

I was very disappointed in our experience. I called in for 2 pizzas to go. What I received must have been something else entirely, as to call it 'pizza' is a gross misrepresentation. Flatbread maybe? The flavor was mediocre at best. Service was also lacking. We will not be back.

Sadly, one of my favorite spots in Mystic has become 21Rock, and is very disappointing. Prices went up, food quality way down. No happy hour, no brunch. I gave it two chances to win me over, but I dont plan to go back. The two stars are for the decor and deck. Owners: please try the food before you serve it.

What a disappointed that Harbour House has been replaced by the oddly named 'Rocks 21'. While Habour House wasn't the best, it was decent, and always used to enjoy going there. I'm afraid I can't say the same for Rocks 21. While the decor has been improved upon and the service was fine, the food was a big let down. My friend had the fish and chips which consisted of a single smallish piece of fish and some quite ordinary french fries. For some reason, this traditional Anglo American dish was served on a banana leaf. My friend and I have eaten at most of the restaurants in the Mystic area numerous times and we both agreed that the fish and chips at Rocks 21 is probably the worst in the area. My dinner was also a disappointment. I opted for a more elevated dish -- beef medallions with some kind of crab dressing which was served with a potato rosti. While the dish was nicely presented and I think thoughtfully conceived, but the execution was really poor. I ordered my beef medium but one of the medallions was practically rare and quite chewy. The temperature of the beef and potato was strangely uneven which made we wonder if it had been reheated in microwave. I will say that the wood fired pizzas looked nice. There is such a gorgeous view from the patio that I will probably be back and just opt for that.. One other thing to note is that Rocks 21 doesn't appear to have a happy hour, which most other Mystic restaurants do. Harbour House, btw, had a great happy hour. I shall miss it.

I am all for a pricey yummy meal with amazing views. But this was a big disappointment. Especially following the Harbour House and their great menu. -service was mediocre, not complaining. -Acoustics HORRIBLE especially with live music inside - you could not talk across the table without yelling and we were in the dining room... Live music inside of a restaurant does not need speakers to amplify them. - We made a reservation but they could not accommodate us outside. Disappointing. Still not complaining. Here comes the complaint and why I felt the need to write a review online so that others are not as disappointed as we were on our special occasion dinner. -Menu was small but looked good - until we got our food. . . . They tried to pass off skimpy appetizers for entrees! We were incredibly disappointed.I am no stranger to high priced food BUT when the scallop appetizer is $18 and the scallop entrée is $29 you expect a size difference, correct? The additional $11 was to pay for *5* asparagus spears! There was 4 scallops that were quarter size, 5 asparagus spears less than 5" in length, 4 cherry tomatos and a single peel of a medium zucchini, a peel like you took a potato peeler to it.... It was cooked to perfection but this was by no means an entrée! It was barely an appetizer but I wouldn't have been upset if the scallop appetizer wasn't the same size. Scallop appetizer was ordered by someone else at our table, looked good and same amount of food! The fish and chips were not any better size or price wise. I do not eat chain or fast food but this is the best way to describe it - The fish patty from a fast food restaurant is larger and thicker and a child's fry portion contained more food than Rocks 21 serving size. for $19 I expect my fish to contain more than a 3x3" piece of fish. At the very least potatoes cost about $2 for 10 pounds - it wouldn't have been so disappointing if they had added more fries to the order.Beef medallions were tasty but also tiny but closer to a realistic size. Clams and Wine Pasta dish was tasty also but again the serving size was way too small. Additionally there was no wine list nor did the waitress have any idea at all about wine and I was only looking for a simple white on the beautiful sunny late spring day. This was a pitfall. I ordered a glass instead of our usual bottle of wine - this was a sale lost! I will take my business to any other place in Mystic for the same views, same price, and realistic meals. I typically always have leftovers. I NEVER clean my plate at a restaurant. --- We left here after solo appetizers were passed off as entrees and went to S&P Oyster instead for a real meal. If you still choose to go here for dinner, be advised it will take you an appetizer and entrée per person and you may still not have enough food to equal an actual meal, European serving size. If you are looking for an American sized meal - you would need to order the entire menu. Unsettling. Bring back the Harbour House!

Food was mediocre, they kept bringing plates of food for other tables, and asking us whether we had ordered it. It was very disorganized, and seemed like there was either no or very weak management. The server was running around nonstop, I am not sure if they did not have enough people working or what the issue was. We had to wait 20 minutes to get silverware. The crab cakes tasted like someone just sprinkled some old bay on top of the crab, and the salmon was not properly cooked.

Formally Harbor House at the Inn at Mystic. We chose to sit out on the deck with the sweeping views of the Sound. There is No Brunch the website needs to be updated.. This was the disappointment. The Lunch menu was alright. We started with Wings the had Sandwiches and burgers. Love the Hand Cut Fries. Our server Jason was attentive but needed some "tweeking" on the menu. There is also wood Fire Pizza Oven .next visit will be PIZZA!

Rocks 21restaurant has a beautiful deck overlooking the water. Had a drink during happy hour before dinner. The service and drinks were great. Came back later for dinner. Live music from a country singer. I started off with a delicious clam chowder while my wife chose the lobster Mac and cheese. We then shared the lobster casserole. The server was friendly and we enjoyed the meal and the experience. Would recommend to anyone.

Went during happy hour on a Monday. Local beer selection seems to be mostly IPAs. Sangria (red or white) was very refreshing after a long drive. Quality food with a nice view of the water and the occasional passenger train. However, service was lacking. I think we had a trainee, but neither her nor the trainer checked on us without being flagged down for more drinks or the check. Several times they quickly walked by without a glance in our direction. Someone else brought the food out. We had to ask her for silverware, which she did bring out immediately. We could have ordered more drinks during happy hour. After waiting to pay the bill we saw the table behind us send someone in to pay and followed suit.
